The Future of Jeep® and RAM Models

October 17th, 2018 by

Earlier this year, FCA US LLC rolled out a five-year plan, which teased several new vehicles and updates to many existing ones. As your Auburn and Fort Wayne, IN Chrysler dealership, we thought we’d share some of the news we learned from this new plan and provide updates on what you can expect.

While the automaker plans to roll out eight Jeep® PHEV models by 2022, they’re planning to introduce a couple of models before then. Recently, it was announced that a Jeep Renegade PHEV model and a Jeep Wrangler PHEV model will arrive in 2020. Pre-production on the plug-in hybrid Jeep Renegade model starts in 2019 at the Melfi plant in Italy.

The five-year plan isn’t only focused on Jeep models, however. Another key brand is RAM. The 2019 RAM 1500 is undoubtedly a tour de force, and it’s only gaining ground for the future.

The RAM 1500 Rebel is one of the most popular RAM truck options, and the automaker is doubling down on its success. A few years ago, they showed off a RAM 1500 Rebel TRX at the Texas State Fair. The vehicle featured a powerful V8 engine delivering 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. While the actual specs aren’t confirmed, the RAM 1500 Rebel TRX is certainly on the way.

More good news for RAM truck fans comes in the form an all-new RAM 1500 Heavy Duty, scheduled for a January 2019 launch. Meanwhile, thanks to the success of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Cherokee trims like the Trailhawk and Trackhawk, we’re looking to get another with the new Deserthawk model that promises high-speed off-road capabilities in the sand.

As your Fort Wayne, IN Chrysler dealership, we’ll keep you updated on new developments as we learn more. However, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty to explore right now. Visit us today to shop new Jeep models for sale or test drive a 2019 RAM 1500.
