The standard powertrain features a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine comes with standard rear-wheel drive, and helps the Grand Cherokee tow up to 6,200 pounds when properly equipped. For the Overland and Summit trims, you can opt for the more muscular 5.7-liter V8 engine, which comes with standard 4-wheel drive featuring either the Quadra-Trac II or Quadra-Drive II 4X4 systems. When properly equipped, the V8 helps the Grand Cherokee tow up to 7,200 pounds. For the Overland, you'll find even more off-road prowess, including features like hill-descent control, front tow hooks, and steel underbody skid plates. With the help of the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension System, the Overland can also ford up to 24 inches of water.
